Old Town School Of Folk Music: Art Teacher 2016- Present
Design and Lead art classes for children and families.
Lead visual arts class during annual OTS Summer Arts Camp Session. Camp culminates in a final performance co-directed and preformed by campers.
Collaborate with fellow OTS teaching artist to lead workshops.
Museum of Contemporary Art: Family Day Assistant October 2012-Present
Work with Coordinator of School, Teacher, Family and Youth Programs, Ellen Chu and Programer of Education, Lauren Watkins, to prepare activities and host Family Day.
Co-host/host numerous creative Family Day studio activities led by various MCA Artist Guides.
Engage children and families in high quality interactive environments during Family Day as part of successful team effort.
Chicago Substitute Teacher Network: K-High School Substitute Teacher October 2014-Present
Successfully integrate and manage new classroom dynamics and school culture on both daily and long term basis.
Work one-on-one with students in paraprofessional role within various schools.
Assist lead teachers and school faculty in classroom.
Rowe Elementary School: Lead Visual Art Teacher August 2014- June 2015
Implemented contemporary art curriculum with elementary school students, grades kindergarten through fourth through an “Art Cart” style education.
Built lesson plans around in-class group brainstorming activities and collaborative art making.
Organized and successfully managed smooth transition traveling by cart between ten, 35 minute class periods/classrooms per day.
Hosted 2nd Annual Spring Art show with other lead Visual Art teacher (Karen Brinker). Show consisted of 200+ kinder through fifth grade works along with interactive family based art-making activities.
Art Box: Art Instructor; Director Educational Programming November 2011-July 2013
Built, organized and executed all curriculum used in my classroom. Led classes both on and off-site during week long Summer Art Camp. Average class size 8-12. Student age ranged from 7-16 years.
Director of Educational Programming responsibilities: Wrote, published, and distributed monthly newsletter. Formed partnerships with local artists and educational facilities such as Geneva History Museum and Geneva Public Library for off-site activities and summer camp field trips.
